Love Monday
Rachel Tracey, Biomedical Scientist, Author, is sharing her story to inspire others who may begin to see their true worth. 'There is plenty of room for everybody to be “great”, and this starts with knowing and accepting yourself. We can all have a seat at “the table” and I want others to realise that too and be mobilised into action.'
Meet Rachel Tracey
What is your story, Rachel?
A child of God first, I work between departments in the church, also speaking publicly therein. In addition, I work in a hospital lab and in education from time to time.
As of now I am pursuing my career as an author and motivational services provider, with the view of providing workshops and motivational products under my business “TRACE MONDAY MOTES”
What’s your profession?
By trade, I am a qualified Biomedical Scientist, specialising in haematology and transfusion. I am also a secondary trained maths teacher.
What are you interested in?
My interests include learning and development of self and others. I enjoy relaxing, down time experiences and travelling too. Time spent with family and friends when I get the chance is the best.
Why write a book chapter? Tales of Womanhood?
Tales of womanhood is a brilliant idea and concept that I believe will empower and enlighten others in quite personal ways. I chose to write a chapter to begin to tell my story. I thought it was an amazing opportunity afforded to me, it lined up perfectly with the direction that I am going in and I gladly took it with the view to inspire others.
What’s it about?
The chapter is about the transition from a place of self-hate to a place of self-love and acceptance. The chapter details some of the elements of a low self-esteem whilst offering some advice on how to overcome feelings of self-hate and how to realise true value and worth.
What are hoping to get out of it?
As mentioned above, it is my hope to tell my story and that others may begin to see their worth. So much potential is lost or goes to waste to low self-esteem. I’m a firm believer in the fact that there is plenty of room for everybody to be “great”, and that this starts with knowing and accepting yourself. We can all have a seat at “the table” and I want others to realise that too and be mobilised into action.
What would you tell today’s millennial women?
Look out for and embrace change when it comes. Be open to receive those things that you are hopeful for by thinking and speaking positively about them. Keep levelling up. Once you’ve reached for the stars and grabbed one, keep on reaching. Once you step onto the ceiling of the sky, keep climbing.
What your best life lesson?
My best life lesson takes on the title of my next book project: “You are the first and the best”. In line with this I realise that there are no hard and fast rules to life and that the best way to do life is unapologetically as YOU.
What would you tell today’s young woman?
You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. You are incomparable to any other; you are the first and the best you around! The only one able to stop you is you. Practise cultivating thoughts (consciously think positively towards those things that you want to see come to life) that nourish your gifting and gives rise to purpose being released. “Practise makes perfect”.
