Public Relations is one market where women are rising to the forefront of the camera. Public relations is an industry that takes finesse. A woman brings empathy, storytelling, objectivity, and a listening ear to just about any market. Intricate and prolific with the way stories in the news are portrayed women bring a distinct touch of depicting the most important topics happening in the media.

With the witness of the 2024 Grammy Awards and the high number of female winners are bringing the world a preview of women taking the stage from all different industries. The Grammy’s displayed the immense amount of female talent in the music industry. Throughout the time the Grammy Awards has existed there have been many nominees that did not win a Grammy. Being nominated several years in a row. However, this year each with profound categories women prevailed as a majority of the nominations in the four most powerful categories.

This shook the entertainment industry which is a male-dominated industry. Some women music artists won their very first Grammy . This award is such a prestigious award that many in their career strive to achieve. This year is viewed as the year of the woman, but this is just the beginning of women taking their place in several male-dominated industries. With the Urbana category, otherwise known as reggaeton (Latin Hip-Hop) Karol G took the spotlight. With any great achievement comes the importance of maintaining the authority figure that is looked up to. With so many aspiring female artists in all genres Karol G as the first Latina Female in this category has given women around the globe, especially in this category the fortitude that they also can achieve this great honour.

Thus far, 2024 has exemplified the importance of equality and the dynamic shift moving positively toward the future. Stephen Curry a prominent basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) also brought light to the equality for women in the sport of basketball. During, the NBA All-Star weekend this year for the first time there was a three-point contest with a male basketball player against a female player. As Stephen Curry states, “I want our girls to grow up knowing that there are no boundaries that can be placed on their futures, period.”

From the media, the highest award in the entertainment industry, a major sports association, and this is just the beginning of where women are pushing to be seen, acknowledged, and accepted. Not just one target market or one industry, or even one exact type of woman took the stage this year.
