Use.ai, a consumer app that gives people access to more than 10 AI models including GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek through one subscription, says it has passed one million monthly active users less than a year after launch.

The app is designed around a problem that regular AI users run into each time a better model comes out. Months of conversations, preferences and files sit inside the platform they already use, and moving to the new model means starting again without them. Use.ai keeps that history in one workspace and lets users change model in the middle of a conversation.

## AI Memory and the Cost of Switching Models

"I pay around $1,000 a month for premium subscriptions because those accounts hold years of my history. My preferences, my work, my life. I don't want to lose that context whenever a better model appears," said Ihor Herasymov, Use.ai's co-founder.

Herasymov began his career at Ernst & Young before moving into investment banking, where he had closed four private equity deals worth a combined $4.7 million by the age of 26. He went on to launch seven businesses before building a technology company to more than 100 employees and $3 million in annual revenue within two years. After ChatGPT was released, AI became central to how he researched and made decisions. He began testing models heavily and found that each one built up context he did not want to give up.

"That's where Use.AI began: one account, leading AI models, and context that stays with you," he said.

ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini all now [remember users' preferences across chats](https://www.sovereignmagazine.com/article/chatgpt-s-memory-upgrade-transforms-ai-assistants-into-personal-knowledge-systems), and Anthropic has added a tool that copies a user's stored preferences from ChatGPT into Claude. Use.ai keeps the history in a workspace that sits above any single model.

## An All-in-One AI Platform With a Free Answer Engine

Use.ai replaces separate subscriptions with a single workspace, where research, writing, planning and creative work happen in the same thread and users can bring in a different model as a task changes. The free tier is an Answer Engine built on open-weights models that the company configures and optimizes itself. Frontier models are available on paid plans for tasks that need deeper reasoning or more advanced capabilities.

The company's own research suggests users already move between models. In a survey of more than 5,000 users, 42% said they switch for better quality or deeper reasoning, and 36.5% said they switch depending on the task. One user put the same investment question to four models and used the points where they agreed and disagreed to decide what needed more research.

Use.ai sees its largest opportunity among people who are new to AI. In a separate survey of more than 30,000 users, 54% said they were either using AI for the first time or had only tried it a few times. The company estimates that roughly four billion more people could [become regular AI users](https://www.sovereignmagazine.com/article/gemini-billion-users-reach-not-choice) over the next decade, and wants to be the place where they build up their AI history from the start.

## Automatic Model Routing and a Personal AI Assistant

The company is now working on automatic routing that sends each task to the most suitable model, so that users no longer need to follow model launches, compare benchmarks or decide which AI to use for which job.

"We build for consumers, not developers," said Herasymov. "Our users shouldn't need to follow model releases, compare benchmarks or decide which model is best for every task. That's our job."

The next step is [a personal assistant that learns a user's preferences, routines and schedule](https://www.sovereignmagazine.com/article/openai-s-chatgpt-pulse-takes-aim-at-google-assistant-with-first-truly-proactive-ai-personal-a), then uses models and connected apps to carry out tasks. Asked to book a haircut next week, and given access to the user's calendar, it could find their usual salon, check open appointments against their schedule, make the booking, add it to the calendar and set a reminder. Asked about new running shoes, it could research suitable models based on the user's preferences and training habits, compare prices and availability across retailers and, once the user confirms, complete the purchase.

"Our goal is to minimize the effort between 'I need something done' and 'it's done,'" said Herasymov. "We want Use.AI to be where your AI relationship begins and where it stays, regardless of which model wins next."

## FAQ

**Q: Is there an AI that combines all AI?**
Several apps give access to more than one AI model through a single account. Use.ai offers more than 10, including GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek, in one conversation, with a free Answer Engine built on open-weights models and paid plans for frontier models.

**Q: Does AI remember past conversations?**
Most major chatbots now keep some memory of a user's preferences across chats, but that memory stays inside each provider's platform. Use.ai keeps a user's conversations and context in one workspace, whichever model answers.

**Q: How do you use different AI models together?**
In Use.ai, users can switch models in the middle of a conversation or put the same question to several models and compare the answers, as one user did with an investment question across four models. The company is building automatic routing that will choose the model for each task.
