President Trump said Monday that Bombardier, the Montreal-based planemaker, can no longer sell aircraft in the United States unless it starts manufacturing them on American soil. Canada is due to impose a new wave of counter-tariffs against the US at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: "NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES! Their products aren't good enough! If they want our Market, they must build here, and stop treating America like a 'piggybank.'" He said more than half of Bombardier's revenue comes from the United States and accused Canada of blocking American banks and companies from operating there. He also claimed Canada had blocked Gulfstream Aerospace, the US planemaker, from doing business in the country. He closed the post: "BUY AMERICAN. FLY ON AMERICAN AIRLINERS."
