Is there anything more terrifying than leaving your house on a trip and realising you’ve forgotten something? Was it the charger for your phone? Is that your toothbrush? You tell yourself that it will be alright, that you can always get it later, that you always forget something on a trip. But it doesn’t have to be that way; it is possible to travel with everything you want and need, especially if you have a campervan to store it all in. One of the benefits of a motorhome is not having to constantly pack and repack your belongings, as well as having lots of campervan storage space.
This is at the top of our list since they are the stuff you must not forget! Many other motorhome necessities can be obtained along the route, but you won’t get very far without your documents. If you’re renting a campervan, you’ll most likely need to ask the owner for several of these paperwork, so use our checklist to make sure they haven’t overlooked anything!
Unfortunately, we do not yet live in a free society, so you will need to pay for your journey. This may seem basic, but don’t forget to bring your debit and credit cards! However, consider whether you may need cash, as not every establishment, including some campgrounds, accepts credit cards.
If you’re leaving the UK, think about what payment methods are allowed there, whether you’ll need to exchange money or if it’s better to take it with you. You should also consider toll roads, as it is significantly more cost-effective to arrange your toll badge ahead of time.
Everything can be replaced, but some items are more expensive to replace than others! This includes your electrical devices. You may believe that because you’re going camping, you won’t need any technology, but I don’t believe you realise all that falls into this category.
Did you know that the most frequently overlooked item in hotel rooms is phone chargers? Consider how frequently you’ve misplaced your own charger; now imagine a campervan trip where you can’t simply contact anyone. We usually recommend keeping your charger in your hand luggage, where it is easily accessible in an emergency. You can use for all your energy needs.
