Stripe now lets businesses in Europe take payment in stablecoins, and for a customer paying from Europe that means one coin. USDC is the stablecoin on offer, across the Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Base and Tempo networks. Two others, USDP and USDG, are open only to businesses in the United States. What reaches the seller is not cryptocurrency: completed payments land in the business's Stripe balance, and prices are shown to the customer in US dollars.

Dune, a blockchain data company based in Oslo, is one of the businesses that has switched it on, and says it is among the first in the European Union to receive stablecoin payments through Stripe. Its enterprise customers can now pay for its data products and APIs in stablecoins. The company says the payments settle with no foreign exchange conversion for dollar-denominated stablecoins, and with full onchain auditability.

Dune sells data about the market it has just started taking payment in. It says it runs the most comprehensive stablecoin dataset in the industry, covering USDC, USDT, EURC and more than 200 other fiat-backed stablecoins across 38 blockchains, and that a recent report it produced with Visa tracked $35 trillion in transfer volume and 30 million active addresses. More than 1,000 enterprise teams use its datasets, among them Visa, WisdomTree, S&P, UBS and Bloomberg.
