Proximal, a San Francisco startup that supplies coding data to AI labs, has raised money from General Catalyst at a $300 million valuation, The Information reported on Sept. 29. In [a post on X](https://x.com/steph_palazzolo/status/2104957322569121881), Stephanie Palazzolo, a reporter at The Information, wrote that the year-old company has passed $200 million in annualized revenue within the last 10 months, "highlighting the labs' neverending appetite for data."

Palazzolo's post did not say how much Proximal raised. Neither Proximal nor General Catalyst has announced the investment on its website.

Proximal sells to the labs building coding agents, AI models that carry out programming work on their own. Labs train and test those agents on programming tasks with a way to score the result. Proximal does not name its customers.
