Every payment system built over the past five decades was designed around one assumption: a human initiates the transaction. Natural, a fintech startup founded in August 2025, is betting that assumption is about to break at scale, and it has closed a $30 million Series A to build the infrastructure that replaces it.

The round was led by Kirsten Green at Forerunner Ventures and brings Natural's total funding to more than $40 million. The company was 193 days old when the round was raised. It has 17 employees and is hiring across all functions.

The founding thesis is straightforward, if consequential. AI agents can already reason, plan, negotiate, and execute multi-step workflows autonomously. The moment money needs to move, though, a human steps back in. Natural's founders, CEO Kahlil Lalji, Eric Wang, and Walt Leung, are building the layer that removes that interruption.
