Intactis Bio Corp's Biohybrid Processing Unit, or BPU, uses stem-cell-derived neurons as its computational core. The company is now raising a $5 million seed round to bring the hardware to data centre partners, and has opened a browser-based game, Biostack Alpha, as a live demonstration of the tissue's ability to hold and improve performance across sessions.

Biostack runs on a dish of living neurons that receives the game board as patterns of electrical stimulation, responds move by move, and improves across overnight sessions without any software update. The system's rack-compatible form factor means it slots into existing data centre infrastructure without requiring operators to redesign their facilities.
