GenZone, the Dubai business setup firm founded by two Canadian expats, has launched a platform that brings its two distinct services, Dubai company formation and US LLC setup, under a single login. The GenZone Platform, branded as GenZone LaunchPad, went live in late July at [portal.genzone.com](https://portal.genzone.com/). The company says it is the first agency to unify these two structures on a single platform for globally mobile entrepreneurs.

The two services serve different needs. The Dubai side is a full relocation and tax positioning play: [company formation](https://www.genzone.com/services/dubai-company-setup/), residency visas, and a move into the UAE's tax environment. The US LLC side is for non-resident entrepreneurs who want access to US banking, Stripe, PayPal, and the American market without living there. What the GenZone Platform changes is that a founder running either structure, or both, now tracks everything from a single dashboard instead of a chain of intermediaries.

The idea came from watching the same thing go wrong repeatedly. "For us, it came from seeing the same frustrations again and again with the traditional way of setting up and managing a business," says co-founder Kevin McKenzie. "There were too many steps, too much back-and-forth, and often no clear visibility into where things stood."

Setting up abroad has typically meant stitching together immigration consultants, lawyers, PRO agents, banks, accountants, and tax advisors, none of whom share a view of where anything stands. The GenZone Platform replaces that with one onboarding flow and one ongoing record.

## Dubai Business Setup, From Trade License to Golden Visa

On the Dubai side, a six-step guided application covers company names, shareholding, business activity, residency visas, and document uploads. Once submitted, the dashboard tracks formation progress, visa status, and financial statements live, with corporate tax registration, VAT, bookkeeping, and renewal deadlines handled by GenZone's UAE tax and accounting team.

The draw remains the UAE's tax position: no personal income tax, and a 9% federal corporate tax that applies only to profits above AED 375,000. For founders pursuing longer-term residency, the platform also tracks UAE Golden Visa applications, the renewable 5- and 10-year residence route that requires no sponsor and extends to family members. GenZone holds Platinum Tier partner status with one of Dubai's premier free zone authorities, a level co-founder Shayan Nasiri says fewer than ten companies have reached.

The relocation track is where GenZone made its name. Tomer Tzadok, the quantitative trading educator known to his 300,000 YouTube subscribers as Coding Jesus, moved his business from Chicago to Dubai through GenZone, which handled his company formation, residency visa, and ongoing tax and accounting. "From day one, they were extremely professional," he says. "Honestly I couldn't have started my business in the UAE and expanded this quickly without them." Other clients on GenZone's books include Tech With Tim founder Tim Ruscica, who bought a downtown Dubai property and secured a Golden Visa through the firm.

## US LLC Formation for Non-Residents

On the American side, GenZone forms [Wyoming and Delaware LLCs](https://www.genzone.com/services/us-llc/) for non-residents starting at $499 per year, with no US residency required. This is a separate service with a different customer: founders who stay where they are but need a credible US entity to reach American banking and payment rails.

The platform tracks EIN registration, banking approvals, and filing deadlines from the moment an application is submitted, and the team carries clients through the parts that usually derail international founders: the company says it has issued more than 600 ITINs and routinely secures US business bank accounts and access to processors like Stripe and PayPal.

US-focused services such as Doola and Stripe Atlas form American LLCs for founders worldwide but stop at the US border, while Dubai's established setup consultancies handle the UAE side only. Nobody else, GenZone says, runs both jurisdictions through one platform.

## Two Canadians in Business Bay

McKenzie and Nasiri are both University of Ottawa alumni who founded GenZone in February 2021, initially as a marketing consultancy for crypto and tech entrepreneurs. The pivot came from their own clients, who kept asking for help with jurisdictions, tax, and relocation. McKenzie came from wealth management and a stint at the Canada Revenue Agency; Nasiri from business analysis and underwriting at firms including Zurich Insurance and IG Wealth Management. Both made the move from Canada themselves, and their view of Western tax rates is blunt. "You have a secret business partner, and in some cases they own more of your business than you do," McKenzie said in a recent interview. The advice that follows is equally direct: forming a Dubai company changes nothing unless the founder actually relocates, because tax follows where you live, not where you incorporate.

The company has grown bootstrapped and referral-driven to a team of more than 20 specialists across company formation, immigration, banking, accounting, tax, and business advisory, split between its Business Bay headquarters in Dubai and a Miami office.

The platform itself took sustained iteration. "We had to go through a lot of testing and improvements based on feedback from our team and clients," McKenzie says. "It took time, but that process helped us build a much better platform before launching it."

GenZone says it has served more than 3,000 clients across company setup, US LLC formation, business banking, and UAE residency, forming more than 1,400 companies and opening more than 2,500 bank accounts for clients in over 50 countries. Existing clients have been onboarded to the GenZone Platform to track renewals, deadlines, and documents, with advisors available on call and via a dedicated WhatsApp group. "The GenZone Platform represents everything we've perfected operationally," McKenzie says, "brought together in a way that gives clients transparency, control, and confidence they deserve throughout the entire process, and well beyond."

## FAQ

**Q: Can you own 100% of a company in Dubai?**
Yes. Free zone companies have always allowed full foreign ownership, and since 2021 most mainland activities do too. GenZone's guided application covers both routes, with the choice depending on where the business will actually trade.

**Q: Is Dubai 100% tax free?**
Not entirely. The UAE levies no personal income tax, but a 9% federal corporate tax applies to business profits above AED 375,000, and VAT registration applies to qualifying businesses. The GenZone Platform tracks corporate tax registration and filing deadlines so founders stay compliant on both counts.

**Q: How much does it cost to create a company in Dubai?**
Costs vary with the free zone or mainland license, visa count, and business activity, which is why most founders get a tailored quote rather than a list price. GenZone's US LLC service is flat-priced from $499 per year; its UAE tax and accounting support starts from AED 4,499 per year.
