Cyprus-based platform provider FinHarbor has released an AI compliance module that automates the investigative groundwork of anti-money laundering reviews while requiring human authorization for every decision with regulatory consequences. The module, which runs as a self-hosted large language model inside client infrastructure, is currently running in pilots across several client deployments.

The timing is shaped by a firm regulatory date. On 2 August 2026, [transparency obligations under the EU AI Act take effect](https://www.legalnodes.com/article/eu-ai-act-2026-updates-compliance-requirements-and-business-risks) for customer-facing AI systems, with the high-risk regime requirements following in December 2027. FinHarbor designed the module around that framework from the start: documented, supervised, and architecturally prevented from taking consequential action on its own.

The product sits on top of FinHarbor's existing compliance stack, connecting to the platform's unified ledger, KYC/KYB records, transaction monitoring, know-your-transaction data, and append-only audit trail. Analysts query it in plain language; it retrieves case data, assembles investigation profiles, and drafts suspicious activity report narratives for human review and sign-off.
