Dassault Systemes has agreed to acquire ArisGlobal, a Waltham, Massachusetts based maker of regulatory and safety software for the life sciences industry, for [approximately $1.8 billion in cash at closing](https://www.3ds.com/newsroom/press-releases/dassault-systemes-acquire-arisglobal-creating-unified-ai-intelligence-platform-life-sciences-industry-connecting-molecule-patient-and-real-world-outcomes), according to Dassault's own announcement of the deal. The agreement includes up to $200 million in additional consideration tied to multi-year AI-related revenue milestones and was unanimously approved by Dassault Systemes' board. Nordic Capital, the private equity firm that has owned ArisGlobal since 2019, says the sale represents a full exit.

The price puts a number on something PE-to-strategic exits in vertical software rarely disclose outright: what a scaled, AI-enabled compliance platform is worth to a buyer that already has the balance sheet and distribution to extend it. Nordic Capital's own announcement of the sale does not mention a price. Dassault's does.

ArisGlobal, founded in 1989, builds the [LifeSphere platform](https://www.arisglobal.com), used by life sciences companies, contract research organizations and government health authorities to manage regulatory submissions, pharmacovigilance workflows and clinical data. The company serves more than 200 enterprise customers, including half of the world's top 50 biopharma companies, and processes more than 12 million safety cases a year. It employs more than 1,300 people globally and is expected to generate approximately $175 million in revenue in 2026.

## How Nordic Capital Built ArisGlobal Into an AI Platform

Nordic Capital first invested in ArisGlobal in 2019, partnering with the company's founding family and management team, and added a further investment in 2021. Over the six years that followed, the firm worked with management to move the company from an on-premise vendor toward a cloud-native SaaS business, expand its go-to-market organization, and add two acquisitions that broadened the product line.

The clearest output of that work is NavaX, ArisGlobal's generative AI tool for safety case processing, which automates parts of pharmacovigilance case handling that used to require manual review. Dassault says the platform delivers productivity gains of more than 30 percent for customers, the kind of metric that turns a compliance vendor from a cost center into a software business a strategic acquirer will pay a premium for.

## Why Pharmacovigilance Software AI Commands a Premium Price

The life sciences compliance software market ArisGlobal operates in is projected to reach $7.5 billion by 2030, by Dassault's estimate. Regulatory reporting requirements are growing more complex and the volume of safety data companies must process keeps rising, which is the case ArisGlobal CEO Aman Wasan made for why the AI layer matters now.

"The life sciences industry is at an inflection point as regulatory complexity is increasing, data volumes are growing and our clients need software that can keep pace," Wasan said. "The partnership with Nordic Capital gave us the resources and the runway to build exactly that."

For Dassault, the acquisition adds a compliance and safety layer to a life sciences software business that already spans drug discovery and clinical development, extending its data trail from a molecule's discovery to its real-world outcomes in patients. The deal is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the second half of 2026. Evercore and Jefferies advised ArisGlobal on the transaction; Kirkland & Ellis served as its legal counsel.
