John Healey's first Budget lands on Wednesday 28th October, about four weeks earlier in the year than [Rachel Reeves's Budget on 26th November 2025](https://www.sovereignmagazine.com/article/uk-budget-2025-reeves-tax-reforms-risk-stifling-growth-and-shaking-investor-confidence). It is the earliest autumn Budget since Rishi Sunak's on 27th October 2021. Healey announced the date on 31st July, less than a fortnight after taking over at the Treasury.

The earlier date gives you 159 days between the Budget and the end of the tax year on 5th April 2027, against 130 days last year. That is a month more to read the detail, take advice and use this year's allowances before they reset, without the usual scramble between Christmas and the January self-assessment deadline.
